waking up your minds with my first blog

since i major in "deep thinking," i thought i'd throw out some interesting questions to ponder.
do you believe everything down to the smallest coincidences happen for a reason? do you believe that reason should be sought out and understood? is it logical to live your life based on the interpretations you derive from the smallest circumstances? what about deja vu? dreams? is something unconscious inside of you trying to get your attention through such means as dreams? can you always trust that such things are working to make improvements in your life?
i don't necessarily have the answers, but through words and discussion we sort out what we believe. and you don't have to believe what i believe. it's principled tolerance baby!

David MIA?????

Hey Dave where are you? I haven't seen any super insightful posts or comments on Wednesday night stuff from you...a tear... Are you coming home for the 4th?

Joke from Jenny

Look...on time this week...

Ghandi was a spiritual guy who liked to walk everywhere, which was tough on his feet. He fasted a lot, so he got very small and frail. When he did eat, it was some nasty Indian stuff, and he didn't brush his teeth.
Therefore, Ghandi was a super calloused fragile mystic plagued with halitosis.

Hey, obviously I wasn't at group last week and I haven't recievd my tape yet. It will arrive here in a few days. But Chad told me that it only recorded about half of it (the meeting went longer than the tape had the ability to record). So, could someone tell me what was said. It doesn't need to be really detailed, just generally what was discussed. Also, tell me your thoughts on what was talked about it. - Super Dave

What a Doll!

I have to send out a very special Thank You to my love Laura Sprockett. She woke up at 5 in the morning on Saturday to make me breakfast before I had to go take the miserable and ever so impossible PRAXIS test (I have to pass it in order to student teach). Laura you are a doll and once again I appreciate you greatly and I am truly blessed to have you as a friend! Have a great week!....Ang

Back from Texas

Hey everyone! So, on the way back from Texas, I found out that there were little comment buttons under each post. Yes, I am an idiot to the computer world. I just thought we responded to eachother throught the new posts. Thanks to Nurtle (Evan...sorry babe) I was informed that you could go back and read the comments. So, now I know how to correctly use the blog. Anyway, Evan and I had a great trip to Texas this past weekend. We even rode a bull, hopefully we will get that picture posted soon! We went to Billy Bob's the largest honky tonk in the world. It was so much fun! I have to learn how to do all that country dancing. Evan and I attempted, but all I could do was laugh the whole time, regardless it was so much fun! I can't wait to have our Western theme party, Laura and I are ready as soon as someone can come up with a cool location. I have discovered that I am far from a true western girl. (As if I ever thought I was even close). We went into the store where Evan's mom works called the store, but wow, I had to laugh at half the outfits in there and say are you serious? It would be fun to dress up in but I am just not used to the Texas Western wear. Anyway, I can't wait till tonight for our group to meet. It should be fun and enlightning. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week....Angie

Broke and Horny:a documentary on how 20-somethings suffer for Jesus

Well I received the tape from last Wednesday night in the mail today, and listened to it tonight. I want to first express my appreciation to my heterosexual soul mate, Big Sexy Wilkins, for taking the time to make it possible for me to hear last weeks meeting. Moving on, what I got from the tape: Old Shannon is broke and horny, Mary Beth is broke and bored (but I'm not sure if she's horny or not), and Achilles and Big Sexy usually stay out past their bed times (unlike their 23 and in Achilles case 47 year old counterparts, who are all wussies). The idea for the group and what it entails is exciting. I am very curious, however, to see how different people's personalities and ideas on spirituality will match up. When your younger and less mature, it's easier to challenge people and allow yourself to be challenged. I think that it stems from the youthful ideology that Marty was refering to. But as you get older, you do start to get more cynical and kind of stuck in your ways. It will be interesting to see if a bunch of independently minded 20-somethings can TRULY open themselves up, such as they did when they were more innocent during their youth group days. I am saddened that I will not be able to join you guys, but I can be there in spirit (my spirit sounds like the noise a tape recorder makes while it is recording). I would appreciate it, however, if you will post on the blog what ya'll talked about and your thoughts on it. Thanks. - Super Dave

Ok, so it also has taken me forever to post on here. So here goes. First off, I just want to say that I'm so glad that I have gotten to know all of y'all in the last year. I can't say how much I appreciate that y'all were put into my life at a point when I needed it most. The last year has challenged me, changed me, and made me grow "more that I could ask or imagine" and each one of you have been a huge part of that. With that said, I am beyond excited about Wednesday nights. Last Wednesday I mostly just listened and was amazed because many prayers and things God has really placed on my heart seemed to be unfolding in front of me.

Dave, I also totally miss you being around to hang out with and talk to; Casey and I seem to be the only late-nighters left during the week.

So I'm going to suggest having a joke of the week on this thing at least. And I'm nominating myself to post that joke. We can call it "A Joke from Jenny" or something maybe, but maybe not. Here is the joke for this week:
What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup?
Anyone can roast beef!

Ok and since we seem to have a dog theme going on here, I thought y'all might enjoy this: Dog Harmonics

a wise samari would say....

...."thank very much"[in asian accent] for dinner last night jenny and casey. i had a lovley evening at the replogal(?) house. the food was good all the way from start to finish. for our next theme i suggest MEXICAN night.

This is my first official blog!

So, I have been a slacker. I have not posted yet due to the fact that I wanted to post Chad's birthday video on the blog (still not sure how to do that, so...Josh??). Started summer school today and I have a paper due tomorrow. Yea! But even better I get to be at Mac Shack at 7:30 in the am. Apparently, we are retraining. I don't function that early in the morning. That may be because I too am still on the stay-up-til-4am schedule.
Muy excited that K. Binks has joined the ranks of the elite. I think that he was ok with the name after I called him that once. He decided it wasn't that bad. Only Joking Kevin. I am still laughing at the squirrel picture. Even though I am the biggest (maybe inappropriate wording) advocate against the nickname. Nonetheless, I do solemnly swear that I will do everything in my power and Josh's to post the b-day video.

A little hard core, but funny non the less

Laud for B.S.

Even though we don't get to see you as often as we used to, I wanted you (B.S.) to know how proud I am of you for your responsibility in your new position.

First things first

I would like to welcome home Turkey Nutts and Not Friend, I hope that your trip to Texas was good.

Saturday was a sad day. As you know one of the great presidents passed away. To all of us who are Reagan babies we have the great privilege to say we were born under his administration. Which I'd take any day over being a Carter baby and especially a Clinton baby.

Yesterday I found out first hand one of the reasons it sucks to be the manager at NAPA. I was about to sit down to eat lunch with my family. When I say family I don't mean Jim and Gail, I'm talking about my brother his wife and kids. I don't get to see them often enough so I usually like to treasure the little time that we do get to spend together. Well we were sitting around talking and my cell phone is ringing. The caller ID says unknown caller, which I thought was kind of odd, but I picked it up anyways. The lady on the other side precedes to ask me a couple of questions to verify who she is speaking with then she tells me that she is with ADT and that the alarms at NAPA were going off, in sector 6. I didn't even know we had sectors. So before I even got to take a bite of the food off to work. All the way there just to find out that the back door which sticks some times hadn't closed all the way and the wind had blown it open. Or at least that's what I'm guessing, because I didn't notice that anything was missing. Anyway I had to miss lunch with the fam and that's the first of many reasons that I'm sure I'll find out why the manager position sucks.

Halloween Safety

He He

Evan, in route to his honeymoon.

I found out at work this morning that one of the ladies that I work with died on Tuesday night. She was only 39, and was married, with a seven year old son and a thirteen year old daughter. She was walking with her friend and just collapsed, and never woke up. It's crazy, because I had seen her two hours earlier and she was fine. I wasn't that close to her, but we were still friends. It really makes you stop and realize how truly precious and fragile life really is. I remember when I first got to college, I made a solid effort to let all of my family members and friends know how I felt about them; so if a situation like that occured with someone I cared about, then I would never have to live with the regret of things left unsaid. I never got that chance with this lady. Instead, I am left with all of the meaningless work related conversations and fights. I wonder how many people I currently have similar relationships with. Hopefully, the opportunity will come along to change that, or maybe I will one day seize the opportunity. Hate to be a downer, but I thought I'd share. - Super Dave

Just Kiddin'

Ok just kidding! The link does not go to the picture anymore. Sorry I thought it was still up because the title was still there. Thank you very much for taking that off!...Angie

Hey guys! I have to say that I am super excited about this group that we will be starting. I think we all need to be spiritually fed. I hope that we can all grow as friends in Christ! Can't wait till next Wednesday! Evan and I are heading out on the road tommorow to Texas (yes he did just get back from there). We will be gone all weekend for his friend's graduation party. Keep us in your prayers that we have a safe trip. .....Angie
P.S- Thanks for taking the link off the list, but there is still a link where ya'll posted it that needs to come off as well or there is no point. Like you said in response to Jason, anyone can get on this blog, including youth and their parents. Obviously there are things that do not need to be on this page and I would think that would be one of them. I appreciate it thanks!

sucks for you

so we had a great meeting at jay's house last night. i think this twenty something group will be good for all of us even if all we talk about is being "broke and horny". if you dont get it then you should have been there. sucks for you.

Depends if she's cute

Hey, how do you post pictures? - Super Dave

You know whats funny when somebody drives around all day with that on your truck! Ha Ha!

Team 7

Another wonderful night at Tiffany Lanes,
Thats right Team 7 did it again and beat
the best team in the leauge. "In your face!"
Getting spotted a 189 pins from the
start really does help out.

On the work front, I'm like two days into
this manager thing and I'm already swamped
with paper work and too many other things
to even mention. My assistant, ha ha thats fun to say,
must feel worthless all he did all day
was answer the phone then page me to tell me
the phone was for me at least like 30 times.
Well 5:30 comes around mighty early for me
so I'm off to bed. I hope that everyone
has a wonderful day and oh yeah Evan
I'm missing you already.

Big Sexy

thanks guys!!!...........................nooo

Ok, so I figured that by saying that it would be disrespectful to me to post that picture that you would get a nice hint not to post the picture. I haven't even seen my boyfriend close to that naked, so why would it be ok for other people to see it! I guess that I expected too much out of you both (anynomous) to believe that you might actually be decent enough to not post the picture after being specifically asked not to. Of course I can't kick your butts and maybe that is why you both found it ok and amusing to go ahead and post it. But I am very dissapointed and upset at the fact that you would do it anyway. I can't make you remove the picture, but I would hope that maybe you would be respectful enough this time to remove the picture completely.

I'm leavin' on a jet plane...

Well, my flight for Dallas leaves today at 7:20. Tommorrow is my best friend's high school graduation. I will miss you all dearly while I am gone. But don't worry, I'll be back in just two days. I'll try and post when I get there.
