Shaking my head...

Read the title of the article. ;-) It needs to be sent to The Tonight Show when they do their "headlines" segment every week.

The Ags vs the cubs...

Well Evan, my Aggies and your Bears will face off tomorrow in the 101st episode of the Battle of the Brazos. Simply said, things aren't looking too good for ya'. Last week, your QB broke his hand and will be out the rest of the season. He was playing for another injured QB, so that means that your third stringer will be in. So that will make it a little bit tough to put points on the board. On top of that, your defense (the worst scoring defense in the Big XII) has the fun job of defending A&M's offense (the best scoring offense in the Big XII, yes even better than Texas Tech). If history is a sign of things to come, then it's not pretty. Last year, while fielding the worst team in A&M's history, we beat ya'll 73-10. Plus, ya'll haven't beaten us since 1985. That's the bad news. The good news is that ya'll are much improved this year under second year head coach Guy Morris (that guy loves to take impossible coaching jobs - first Kentucky, now Baylor). With a little recruiting and a lot of luck, in a few years I think ya'll could come screaming up to at least the tenth or eleventh best team in the Big XII. ;-) Also, since we have OU next week, I think we'll probably pull our starters early and have pretty conservative play calling, so we probably won't put up too many TD's. Anyway, I'll be there to cheer the Aggies on, heck I might even throw in a little aaaaaaaaaaaaah! sic em' bears! ;-)

Congrats Boston!!

Yeah for Boston!! The dreaded curse has finally been lifted and after 86 years of complaining and getting beat by the Yankees they have won the world series. What will the people of the New England area complain about now. They weren't happy with their Patriots winning two of the past three super bowls, all they did was cry about their beloved Red Sox. Maybe the Red Sox nation will actually forgive Bill Buckner for letting that ground ball go through his legs back in '86. But for some reason I don't believe they will forgive him either. I think next year when they suck again everybody will start crying again. /C-had

WORK

I HATE WORK AND MY JOB!!! we are officially CVS!! (eckerds was bought
by CVS last month in case you didn't know) CVS came in last wednesday and
brought us new computers and registers.. and they said it would be an easier
system than what eckerds had.. and i assumed that i would learn it quickly because it was supposed to be "easy". well it isn't..it is horrible.. i worked
yesterday from 8:30am to 6:30 with no break, no lunch.. i didn't even have a chance to go and get some water.. i never sat down either.. i used worked nonstop till about 3 or 4 and then the rest of the day is easy.. but no more... i really want to quit... i hate it that much..which is a hard thing to say because i have been there for 9 years.. yes 9 years.. it is the only job i have ever had.. i wouldn't know what to do if i didn't work there.. but i might find out sooner than later.. all of sudden there is so much more work to be done... and the pharmacist aren't doing any more than they usually do.. so guess who gets to do all the extra work.. me and the other 2 girls that work there... well i thought i would just vent a little bit on the lovely blog... and hopefully i will be able to post a better post next week about work.. I hope that everybody else has a good week.. because i am pretty sure mine won't... gina marie

Overworked and Underpaid

One week left in October, one week to finish inventory at work. We(Thomas, Josh and I) figured that I had worked a full week in the past two weeks. This inventory junk is driving me crazy. I can't wait til its all done with so I can get back to my normal working schedule. Well it seems as though all of our teams won this weekend(LSU and A&M as if you all didn't know) even if it was closer than any body would've liked. I hope everyone has a good week, If you need me call Napa I'm willing to bet I'll be there a whole lot this week too. /B.S./

Reverse the Curse

with the exciting game 7 win in yankee stadium, our (well, mine at least) beloved bosox are 4 games from erasing an 86 year hex on winning the world series.

the babe's ghost is not dead yet, but the reaper is not far from his doorstep.

can we finally reverse the curse and discover a new emotion to being a sox's fan?

it starts tonight.

ok, now i have something to say... FBC Youth stuff

I was recently asked to design a website for the youth group, and, being that most of you are very involoved with the group, I thought I would get some input from you.

>First, we need to decide on a domain name. Obviously Marty and Jay will need to agree with this, but I thought I'd get some ideas first...
- fbccovyouth.org?
- fivethirteen.net?
you get the idea...

>Second; What sort of things would you guys like to see on the site (other than fat naked chinese kids of course).
What "sub-pages", what information, what sort of interaction, etc...?

Just thought you guys may have some input on the matter. Thanks in advance for ideas...

Josh

Dave, this post isn't about football or WWII, you wouldn't understand...

Josh, this post is about football, so don't read it ;-)

Chad, Jason, and Thomas, I thought ya'll would appreciate this. It's a video from a last second Hail Mary play during the A&M vs. OSU game. It kind of reminded me of the blue grass miracle when you played Kentucky a few years ago. Of course, your's was on the last play of the game which gave you the victory. Our's was on the last play of the half and it just added more to the ensuing beatdown that we were giving them (27-6 at the half). What happened was that they scored at the end of the second quarter with 33 seconds left. The kick off to us and we got the ball on our 20. We were going to just run out the score, but they called two timeouts to try to get the ball back for another shot at scoring. So we run on third down, there's a fumble, the TE picks it up and runs to about our 40. So, with 6 seconds left, Reggie throws a 60 yard bomb downfield, it's tipped, we catch it, and score - doug flutie style. I found this video of the play. It's pretty funny, especially the shot of the cheerleaders reaction. The music is pretty funny, too. To watch it, click on the title of the post.

Surprise!!!

Thank you soooo much to everyone for surprising me last night with a birthday party. I had a blast! I apreciate all of you for being there, and those of you who couldn't make it. I cannot say thank you enough for all of you who pitched in to buy my ticket to Passion '05. That is most definitly the coolest present I have ever recieved. Also thank you to Jason, Stephanie, Casey, and Sarah for the other gifts you got me. A huge thank you to Big Sexy for spending the time and money on organizing the party; I could not ask for a better friend and roomate. I have always heard that your 21st birthday is a special one, but I could have never imagined anything as good as this. Between the party last night, and Angie taking me ski-diving (which by the way was one of the most amazing experiences in my entire life...thank you Princess I love you soooo much) I could not think of anything else to make this birthday more special. Once again thank ya'll for the party, and most of all thank you for your friendship.

With lots of cowboy lovin',
Turkey Nutts

P.S. On Thursday (my actual birthday) we will be celebrating by watching the video of me being born. You won't want to miss out. It's one of my long lived and loved traditions. Everyone is welcome.....see you there!!

Second Grade

For the last 2 weeks I have been teaching 2nd grade Science, Music and P.E. I have fallen completely in love with teaching and with the kids. Today was my last day with them and I really wanted to cry. They all begged my partners and I to stay. They were an awesome class and I would stay there all year of I could. But now it is on to 5th and 6th grade (Oh joy!) I will probably be needing some prayer in this area. Anyway, I have decided that I want to teach 2nd grade and I can't wait until Fall of next year when hopefully I will have my own little munchkins (in the classroom I mean....Don't worry Evan) Although I have been stressed out a little, it was all worth it in the end and I am truly blessed for the experience! My desire and passion for teaching has grown tremendously just over these 2 weeks. I may never make tons of money (I vote for an increase in teacher pay!!!!) but I know that this is where God wants me and I'm looking forward to the rest of my journey!!!....Angie

I need some help. And so I thought that the faithful Doggus reader would be the exact opininon that could help me. I want to buy a laptop but I wanted to get opinions from people that already own laptops. So if you have a laptop could you leave a comment about 1) Who makes it? and
2) What you LIKE and DISLIKE about it?
THANKS in advance!!

Good news and good news...

The good news is that the Aggies won today. It was a tough game, against a good K. State team (the defending Big XII champions). It was pretty crazy to watch. We had a 17 point lead early on, but they came back strong. With four minutes left in the game, they scored making the score 35-30 (A&M up). They kicked off, and then we went three and out. Then we had a horrible punt, giving them the ball at their own fourty yard line with two minutes left. The 12th man (the crowd, for those unfamiliar with A&M) was going crazy at this point. I've been to many a game at Kyle Field, but this was the loudest it's ever been, and that is saying something. Anyway, we stopped them, giving us the ball back with 1:30 on the clock, and they still had one timeout. First down, we run and get stopped. Second down. Run and get stopped. K State timeout. 42 seconds left. It's 3 and 7 and we have to get a first down. Reggie takes the snap (on our 40 yard line), rolls out to the left, takes off running, catches a block from the tailback, runs past the first down marker, to the 50, the 40, splits the safties, to the 30, the 20, the 10, TOUCHDOWN!!! Aggies go up 42-30, stop them on the next series, and win. It was awesome! Best game I've been to in a while. The stats were crazy, the ran 90 plays with a time of possession of 40:28, we ran 43 plays with a time of possession of 19:32. So, according to the stats, we should have lost. But the defense just played outstanding. They held Sproles (a Heisman candidate mind you, who has had over 500 yards rushing in just 3 games, before today) to 61 yards on 20 carries. The Aggies played with a lot of heart out there, and really played as a team. That's the reason why we have gone from an embarrassing loss to Utah, to three straight wins, in pretty dominating fashions against pretty good opponents. It's really been fun to watch, because most of our team is so young. Of our scholarship players, half of them are either true freshman, redshirt freshman, sophmores, or juco's. So, the team is very green, and have been playing way better than I expected at this point. I still think we're only going to fall somewhere aroung 6-5 to 8-3 this year, but that is quite a turnaround from 4-8, especially with so many young and inexperienced players. So the future is bright. Now, back to the game atmosphere. As I said, it was LOUD!!! It was so loud at the begining, that the K State QB had to call all three of their timeouts in the first quarter, because he couldn't get his audibles called. It was like that throughout the game. In the last five minutes, it was the loudest I've ever heard at Kyle Field. Our fans usually start yelling in the huddle, when the opposing team is on offense. But we were literally yelling the whole time, we never stopped. One time they called a timeout, and we were yelling while they were over talking to the coaches on the side lines, while the game was on a commercial brake. It was nuts. I was yelling so loud that I was getting sick. First I was getting dizzy, then I almost started throwing up, then I lost my voice (ahhh...the taste of blood in your throat, nothing like it). But, of course I kept on yelling. When we stopped them on fourth down to give us the ball back (thus saving the game, basically) I gang tackled my whole row (the poor girls around me had to feel my wrath). Needless to say, it was an exciting game. The other good news is that even though I did bad in my pickems' today, I still won, maintaining my lead. So to conclude, today was a good day. Peace be with you. - Super Dave

good and bad news

good news I hit quota again this month so Yeah for me. the bad news my tigers looked rather patethic today they showed hope at the end of the first half but came out and did nothing the rest of the game. Well they scored one touchdown but it was pointless at that point, anyways, i'm off to get another drink have a good night. bye. -C-had
